Who We Are

Chicago-based family with a passion for all things animal. To be fair, dad is the passionate one. But our 2 daughters do enjoy helping him with the work involved to keep our small home-based operation running. Mom just handles all the customer service and data analysis.

The entire adventure started with a purchase of Daphnia Magna from a seller on eBay when our newly acquired Black Ghost Knife fish refused to eat any frozen or pellet foods. It became clear that it was time to learn how to culture these daphnia ourselves to ensure she remained healthy and fed and we didn't go broke trying to do so. Slowly but surely, our entire basement became what is now a large and ever-growing space full of daphnia cultures. We worked towards this current place in our self-employed lives by selling our own daphnia cultures on multiple online platforms. Then came red cherry shrimp, culls, and tubifex worms.

We have developed our own foods to feed our daphnia cultures that we are currently working to bring to the aquatic world. We will certainly update everyone here first when the product is ready for sale!
